Reflection
After completing this task, I gave myself a 6 for criteria A because I provided useful and relevant information that could be helpful for creating the PR commercial video. In criteria C, I gave myself a 5 because I included sources from the information gathered and made sure the information is related to the design specifications. I also made sure that the layout of the Investigation Stage is organized and easy for the readers to follow. For criteria D, I gave myself a 5 because I was able to complete the work with details and I reflected on the improvising to be made. I gave myself a 6 for criteria E because I was able to follow instructions and I was able to explain the task with a good understanding. To improve on the paper, I must edit and revise some of the parts in the paper. But overall, I think I did a good job with the Investigation Stage paper.

Introduction
In this project I will be creating a game. To make this game I will be using Scratch as my software. For this project I need to make an educational game for kids. In this project, our task is to create an educational game using scratch that is useful for students to play and learn. While using scratch, coding will be used to create the layout of the educational game. The educational game should have a good theme for students to practice and develop their skills in a certain subject like Math, English, Science, and many more. Also, the educational game must be appropriate to different students by making sure that they have learned a unit from any subject in the past. In creating the educational game, the design cycle will be used throughout this project. In the Investigate Stage, I need to research useful information that could help me create the educational game. Before researching information, I must create an introduction and explain the problem to make the audience understand the task given. For the design brief and design specifications, I need to set goals that could help me create an effective educational game for students to play. In researching information, the information must be relevant and beneficial for this project. I should also make sure that the information uses APA citation and can be related to the design specifications. After gathering the information that I need, I must create designs and a plan as a guide for the educational game in the Design and Plan Stage. In the Design and Plan Stage, I must create designs on how the educational game will look like. For planning, I will create a list of materials or tools and their uses, a timeline to show what tasks are needed to be completed in each day, and a storyboard for the explanation of the steps and its duration throughout creating the educational game. After creating designs, I must plan out the best two designs and compare them by their strengths, weaknesses, and what could be improved on the design. Then, I must choose the final design for the educational game by justifying why the design is best for the educational game. After deciding the final design, I could start creating the educational game. For the Create Stage, the plan made from the Design and Plan Stage must be followed. A process journal will also be made to show evidence throughout the first day of work to the last day of work with screenshots of the project. After creating the educational game using scratch, students must evaluate the game by playing it and answer a survey for feedback. During the Evaluate Stage, a survey must be made that contains what were the good or bad parts of the game and areas for improvements. Once the students have answered my game, I need to compile all the results to form an analysis of the survey. By looking at the survey answers, I need to reflect on my overall performance of the project. The design cycle is very essential for this project because it helps plan how to prepare and create a very effective educational game for the students.
Identify the problem:
It has to also be age appropriate for example from age 5 and up. The challenge is to make a game from a software called scratch. Based on this challenge, students must use the design cycle to create their product. It can be any game topic as long as it is educational.
Design brief: This Software game will be given on the day of the due date. In order to complete the task, I will research useful information that can help create a good and fun educational game. I will also make a plan to follow while creating the game. In creating the educational game, I will make sure that I follow the design specifications to make the video successful. The game must be appropriate for different audiences and must convey a good message of the school
Design Specification: (minimum of 5 maximum of 7 do’s and don’ts)
-
The project should carry a good message.
-
The project will be visible and should be done at school (assigned area).
-
The design should be appropriate in a school set-up.
-
Appropriate materials and tools are used for the project (computer, laptop, phone)
-
Students will work on allotted time (DT class time) and complete on the set deadline.
-
It should be age appropriate
Guide Questions:
How long do you think an average game should take?
How long will it take to make a fun and educational game?
How to make a specific game on scratch?
How many levels should there be?
Where is the best location to make a game?
What kind of design would be appropriate for an educational game?
How to make a good educational game?
What specific genre or theme will you do?
